I have a question since you do fursuit head commissions. My sister and I were asked to do a partial commish for our neighbors son for MFF which is Dec 1. We told him we might not have time for a full partial so well start on the hands and paws for $75 since he already owns a head, tail, and feet.

Last week the appartment where he keeps his suit parts caught fire. The head is still intact but is smoky and his mom says he needs a whole new head, which we priced at $500. And that we need to get together this upcoming week and talk about it and get the ball rollin on this.

My question is should we do the commish on his head? And if so should we put aside his arms and paws for now? Should we price more for rush work? Or should we tell her we have no time to make a head in 4 months?

It is a bit hard to get mine and my sisters schedules insync cuz she has two jobs. And shes better at furring than I am. Im trying to learn.

Any advice would be so helpful! Ive tried making joirnals on da and fa but no ones answering.
Oh man, an apartment fire is terrible I hope they are ok!

For your question I suppose it depends? Like how long it takes you to do a normal head. Like if it takes you 7-8 months to do a head but you think you know you can do it sooner then you can charge a rush order price to dedicate all your free time to this project. If you think you can't do it even with the amount of free time you do have then don't accept to do the commission or explain to them you can try but you cant guarantee the deadline with the work load you/your sister already have. That would require to set aside the arms and paws for now to at least get the head done and then finish the paws next. The arms last because even if you aren't able to do it they can still wear a long sleeved clothing article to cover themselves.

But there is also another option and that is to clean the head he already has. A quick google search suggests (this is copy pasted from a suggestion blog. The commenter had a house fire and did this with their clothes that still remained): Launder items using hot water, regular amount of detergent, and 1 cup each of white vinegar and baking soda. Repeat if any smoke smell remains. DO NOT dry until smoke smell is gone.

o 2o I hope this helps!

No one was there at the time so that was good.
